Keep customers informed with a process your team controls.
Customers want to know that an enquiry has reached someone and what to expect next. I help home-service businesses plan clear, timely communication around their current process. Based in Milan, I work remotely with clients across the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and beyond.

Customer communication for home-service businesses
A customer communication workflow defines what information is shared, when it is appropriate to send it, which channel is used, and when a person must review the message. The business remains responsible for accuracy, consent, and commitments made to the customer.
Unclear updates can leave customers guessing.
A customer may not know whether their request arrived, whether more detail is needed, or who will follow up. A consistent process can clarify the next step while keeping judgement and commitments with the business.
Identify useful moments to communicate
Map enquiry receipt, requests for more detail, callback arrangements, and changes that merit an update.
Agree message content and channel
Use plain, accurate wording and confirm whether the chosen channel and provider fit the business and its customers.
Keep review and escalation clear
Decide which messages can be prepared for review and which need a person to respond directly.
Designed around the tools and rules you actually use.
Before anything is built, we’ll map the current process, choose one useful improvement, agree the scope, then build and test it against realistic examples.
- Which channels are already used and permitted for this purpose?
- What consent, privacy, opt-out, and record-keeping requirements apply?
- How will errors, failed delivery, urgent enquiries, or changed availability reach a person?
- Messages must not promise a price, job scope, travel, response time, or attendance unless the business has confirmed it.
Connections, message channels, consent wording, data handling, and local requirements depend on the business and its providers. They’re checked during scoping; the pages here describe possible work, not a ready-made or production system.
Before we start
Will you set up automatic WhatsApp or SMS replies?
No such channel or sending capability is assumed. We would first confirm the provider, permissions, consent and privacy requirements, wording, and failure handling.
Can an automated reply promise when a plumber will arrive?
It should not make an attendance commitment without the plumber’s confirmation. A safe process keeps job scope, price, travel, and attendance decisions with a person.
Is communication tested in the plumber prototype?
The case-study page documents a local test of business-side Telegram notifications. The interactive webpage is simulated and does not send customer messages.
